Blinded by science

Loving these pieces by Portland glass artist Andy Paiko that Uncle Beefy shared here. Fascinating. Can't you imagine them in some gothic laboratory full of curiosities?

The photos of the glass pieces reminded me of artist Greetje van Helmond's sugar jewelry. Brilliant and inspiring - I think I will attempt rock candy {nothing quite this grand!} as a science project this week with the boys.
