« Fine and Dandy | Main | Kinda seems like yesterday. »

June 20, 2008

Come and get it.

M and I made this bird feeder yesterday. The idea is from a vintage toy/craft book of mine.  All that it requires is two jar tops, strong string {I used cotton kitchen twine},  wire to hang it, and a cake donut. Oh, and paper for the sign - that was M's idea!

so cute! the kids and i will have to make one of these!

Fantastic Idea!
Although, there are seldom stale donuts lying around my house (if I can help it...yummmm)

That flag is priceless! I giggled and smiled. That's actually a very clever idea, except in my house there are no stale donuts. They don't last that long.

I too LOVED the sign! I like M's direct & honest approach to advertising. But it's a good thing you don't live in my neighborhood or I'd be hangin' from it!

So cute. :)

I love it! I kirtsy'ed you!

Now, to put it on my blog. :)

This is adorable and so simple! If only we had a donut in the house.

If only we had a dozen donuts in the house. Yum.

Forget the birdies...I may just have to come and get that donut. Wonderful idea!

That sign is super cute :o) I hope the birds enjoy it lots!

Love it. What a cute idea!

And I thought that my husband feeding the rabbits in our yard pizza was odd.

Thanks folks, as I cannot be trusted with donuts, I went to the Krispy drive thru, bought two and then put them in a cool oven to dry out a bit.

We have had a few nibbles but have altered the design. Birds need something to land on so a much wider jar lid at the bottom would be better {like the size of a pickle jar}

Love this idea, so cool.

LOve this idea! Tell me though, does the cute little flag scare the birdies away?

As an Environmental teacher I totally thought the sign read, "Herbivores! Come and get it!" WHICH, upon closer inspection, it COULD actually say. :) AND.....it would be totally correct!! LOVE IT.

That flag made my day....absolutely and completely...thank you:)
