For C's birthday {which was lasterday}, I put a Happy Birthday garland above his bed while he slept. He had anticipated his big day for quite a while and was excited for it to finally be here in the morning. He doesn't read yet, but I heard a cheery "you made a birthday banner!" coming from his room.
I have big pile of vintage game cards and made this on the quick {as in kinda sloppy}. Ideally, I would have created a template for placement of the holes, which are made with a standard size puncher. I didn't like the backs of the cards, so I glued wrapping paper to them, threaded the ribbon and was ready to hang.
Another way to cover the back would be to use two cards back to back - just reverse the order so it will read correctly both sides and thread ribbon through both cards- no need to glue them.
Vintage letter cards available here.
p.s. - this would be great vintage birthday postcards.
