Black Butt{e}

{ of course my 6 year old drops the e when referring to Black Butte.}

Spent a week with family in eastern Oregon  - good times {and food}. Finally hiked up Black Butte, poor G had to give C many little piggy back rides. He asked me a number of times - um, I have enough work just getting my own body all the way up there. Beautiful views, plus I have never seen so many butterflies outside an exhibit.

 

The lower portion of the hike was dense forest. We stopped to make moss moustaches.

Phyllis Siegel, 77, and Connie Kopelov, 85, were married yesterday. They have been together for 23 years. For some strange reason I don't feel the sanctity and strength of my own marriage crumbling in ruin. Fancy that.

Allure of the Auto

We took the boys and some out of town family to The Allure of the Automobile show at the museum. The boys were in heaven. Pretty sweet. Portlanders: it runs through Sept. 11th.
