Today is officially Boobquake.

 

If you haven't heard :

Jen McCreight came up with a brilliant idea - as many women as possible should dress immodestly today so that any discernable effects upon the Earth's tectonic plates can be traced.  So, we need to break out the cleav,  girls.

I have a feeling my husband will have a nice day today.

The work of Michael Johansson is really fantastic. Color, form, scale - all of it. I am not the most adept at describing what or why I like something, I just know it when I see it and these push all the right buttons for me. The ordinary becomes sculptural. More to enjoy here.

 

I love the suitcases below. I am a nut for size/scale collections {well, except for the clothes in my closet getting bigger}. I have a few collections by size as well as a couple that are 'works in progress' as I find the right sizes - a stack of old movie/ round tins I hope to get as tall as can be and a stack of open books that form a pyramid.

Since I feel like I have totally been 'calling it in' lately with ye old blog, perhaps it is only fitting to share this vintage find with you. Haven't been to many estate sales in the last couple of years, but stumbled across one a few weeks ago. Amazingly, I managed to stumble upon it, even though it was at the end of a cul-de-sac. Anyway, they had this antique candy container cheap, so it lives with me now.

I love old paper candy containers and bon-bon boxes - I have never seen one like this. It is pretty big, overall about 9 inches tall. The wood grain is paste paper, with metal bells and a wooden receiver and ear piece. Wouldn't it be fun to receive this from a long lost friend, just them saying hello?
